Trekker Hammock

For some adventurers, it doesn't get any better than hanging a hammock at night and sleeping closer to the stars. The Trekker Hammock is ideal for warm nights, with a strong but lightweight polyamide fabric and hanging kit. The Trekker is a light and durable hammock and a great item to have in your rucksack. Made from strong polyamide and comes with a hanging kit and utility cord, this hammock is quick and easy to set up and enables you to sleep in more challenging conditions off the cold, wet or uneven ground.

Ho to use the Trekker Hammock:

1. Choose your location

• Find two strong anchor points (trees, posts, etc.) around 3–5 metres apart
• Ensure they are stable and can support your weight (max load approx. 120kg)
• Avoid dead branches or weak structures

2. Attach the suspension

• Wrap the included webbing straps around each anchor point
• Secure them firmly at about head height

3. Clip the hammock

• Attach the hammock to the straps using the carabiners provided
• Adjust tension so the hammock sits:
  • Around chair height off the ground
  • With a slight natural sag (not pulled tight)

4. Adjust for comfort

• The ideal setup creates a gentle curve (around a 30° angle on the suspension lines)
• Lie diagonally across the hammock for a flatter, more comfortable position

5. Check stability before use

• Sit gently first to test the setup
• Make sure all knots, straps, and attachment points are secure

6. Use in the field

• Best suited for warm weather and lightweight travel
• Keeps you off cold, wet, or uneven ground
• Use a Crusader Hammock for extra protection from bugs and rain

7. Packing away

• Detach from anchor points
• Make sure the hammock is clean and dry
• Fold or stuff into the included compact stuff sack for easy transport
